Protect Your Intellectual Property
in Seconds
Your ideas are valuable. Don’t let others steal them because you haven’t documented correctly.
Accepted in US & EU courts · GDPR compliant
Step 01
Create anything.
Every idea you have, a design, a piece of code, a document, a formula, is your intellectual property the moment you create it. The law recognises creation, but it cannot protect what it cannot prove. Most creators have no record of when they created something.
Step 02
Upload to immut. We can't read it.
Drag and drop your file. immut generates a cryptographic hash and encrypts your content before it reaches our servers. We see ciphertext, not your original file. Your actual idea stays completely private.
Step 03
Public proof. Private content.
The fingerprint is recorded permanently on the XRP Ledger blockchain with a precise timestamp. The record is public; anyone in the world can verify it exists. But without your original file, the hash reveals nothing. Your proof is public and your idea stays completely secret.
Step 04
Proof that lasts forever.
You receive a court-ready certificate: your file's hash, the exact timestamp, and the blockchain transaction ID. This certificate has been accepted as evidence in courts across the US, EU, China, and the UK. No lawyers needed to generate it. No third party can alter it. It exists as long as the blockchain exists.
Proof hash
Zero-knowledge proof
Public proof. Secret idea.
When you timestamp something with immut, a cryptographic fingerprint (not your content) is recorded on the blockchain. The record is permanently public and verifiable by any court in the world. But the fingerprint reveals nothing about your idea. You hold the only key.
Your file
Design, code, documents, anything.
One-way hash
A fingerprint. Mathematically impossible to reverse.
Blockchain record
Hash + timestamp. Public. Immutable. Provable.
Why it matters
Timestamping protects every type of IP.
Prior Art & Copyright
A timestamp proves you created it first, so no one can dispute your copyright.
Copyright exists the moment you create something, no registration needed. But in any dispute, everything hinges on when you created it. Metadata can be altered. Emails can be fabricated. A blockchain timestamp cannot. It establishes prior art and proves independent creation with mathematical certainty that no court can ignore.
In 2025, the Tribunal Judiciaire de Marseille accepted blockchain timestamps as valid copyright evidence in AZ Factory v. Valeria Moda, awarding damages, injunctive relief, and destruction of infringing goods. EUIPO recognised it as a landmark precedent for IP law across all 27 EU member states.
Trade Secrets
Blockchain records prove what you knew and when, protecting your secrets in court.
Trade secret law protects confidential information, but only if you can prove you took reasonable measures to protect it. A blockchain-certified inventory creates an immutable record of what you knew, when you knew it, and that you treated it as confidential. It's the most powerful evidence you can have when an employee leaves with your IP.
Both the US Defend Trade Secrets Act and EU Trade Secrets Directive require proof of 'reasonable measures.' Courts and leading IP scholars recognise blockchain timestamping as a demonstrable, court-ready fulfilment of this requirement: turning 'we told them it was secret' into verifiable proof.

Patents & Trademarks
Timestamping protects your idea through the years a patent takes to arrive.
Patents take 2 to 5 years and cost £10,000 to £50,000+. Trademarks require commercial use before they grant protection. During that gap, you have nothing unless you have timestamped proof of what you created and when. immut bridges that gap with evidence that supports prior use defences, derivation proceedings, and prior art challenges.
97% of patents never earn enough to cover their filing costs (Berkeley Patent Survey). Universities patent only 5 to 10% of disclosable inventions, leaving the rest unprotected. Blockchain timestamping protects the 90 to 95% of IP that never reaches formal filing, instantly, at a fraction of the cost.
